The IIEA has organized a scholarship program to assist students destined for water utilization-related fields. As an association, we feel this program is an important contribution to the irrigation industry. We are extremely proud to offer this scholarship program to you. The scholarship fund consists of money donated by the membership of the IIEA and money from the general fund of the organization. In 2009, we awarded 22 scholarships totaling $15,000 in donated money. Scholarships ranged from $500 to $1,200. Since 1981, The IIEA has awarded $285,395 to students. We encourage applications from anyone interested in the irrigation industry. Previous recipients include students majoring in Agricultural Engineering, Horticulture, Crop and Soil Sciences, Agribusiness, Turf Landscape/Irrigation Architecture and Design. The applications must be postmarked by February 15, 2010. If you are attending college at this time, please do not send your application until after Fall Semesters grades have been posted on your transcript. All applicants will be notified after the grading committee meets. The application has been streamlined to a one page application, transcript, and a one page essay. The applicants will be rated according to the following criteria: career objective, grade point average, activities, and impression. Points are also awarded if an applicant has his/her application signed by an IIEA Member as their Sponsor.
